You’ll Do: We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance
Manager & Engineer to oversee the physical operation, maintenance,
and long-term care of a private estate in Bedford, NY. This is a
hands-on role requiring strong technical expertise across building
systems, the ability to troubleshoot and repair common issues
independently, and the professionalism to manage outside vendors
and service providers. This role focuses on maintaining systems,
coordinating service contractors, and ensuring the estate operates
flawlessly year-round. The ideal candidate is an excellent verbal
and written communicator, fluent in MS Office, mechanically
inclined, skilled in the trades, highly organized, discreet, and
comfortable working in a private, high-standards residential
environment. Key Responsibilities Estate Maintenance & Operations
Oversee day-to-day operation of all building systems including
HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, water, and life-safety
systems. Perform hands-on repairs and troubleshooting for routine
issues (minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, lighting,
controls). Implement and manage preventive maintenance schedules
for all equipment and infrastructure. Maintain estate
infrastructure including mechanical rooms, utility systems, pumps,
generators, and building automation components. Monitor system
performance and identify potential issues before they become
problems. Communicate daily reports to principal and key staff.
Maintain service appointment and maintenance calendars and
communicate the same to key staff. Vendor & Contractor Management
Source, schedule, supervise, and evaluate outside vendors and
service providers (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, landscaping,
security, specialty trades). Review scopes of work, confirm quality
of service, and ensure all work meets estate standards. Coordinate
seasonal services and inspections (heating/cooling systems, backup
power, water systems, snow removal, etc.). Track service contracts,
warranties, and maintenance records. Ensure performance of vendors
and contractors is consistently peerless. Projects & Improvements
Assist with planning and execution of maintenance projects,
upgrades, and renovations. Review technical drawings and contractor
proposals; ensure proper installation and commissioning of new
systems. Identify opportunities for improved reliability, energy
efficiency, and long-term asset protection. Compliance, Safety &
Discretion Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety
regulations, and best practices. Maintain detailed maintenance
logs, service records, and equipment documentation. Respond to
emergencies and after-hours issues as needed. Operate with the
highest level of discretion, professionalism, and respect for
privacy. Required Qualifications 5 years of experience in
facilities maintenance, building engineering, or high-end
residential estate operations. Strong working knowledge of: HVAC
systems and controls Electrical systems (low and line voltage)
Plumbing, water and well systems Mechanical equipment (pumps,
motors, generators, boilers, etc.) Proven ability to perform basic
hands-on repairs across multiple trades. Experience coordinating
and supervising vendors and service contractors. Ability to read
technical manuals, schematics, and system documentation. Strong
organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. High
level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail. Preferred
Qualifications Technical certifications (HVAC, electrical,
mechanical) or engineering background. Experience with building
automation systems, generators, or energy management. Prior work in
private estates, luxury residences, or high-end properties.
Familiarity with Westchester County codes, seasonal climate
challenges, and rural estate infrastructure (wells, septic, long
driveways, etc.). Physical & Work Requirements Ability to lift up
to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in mechanical spaces.
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors year-round. Availability

$90,000-$100,000 bonus
