Job Description for Centre Manager
Hours: 42.5 hours (including 5 hours non-contact time)
We are seeking a dedicated Centre Manager and senior childcare team member. This role combines practitioner responsibilities with management duties, ensuring high-quality standards and best practices are maintained. The successful candidate will work closely with the Deputy Manager and staff team.

  Responsibilities:
  
  
• Act as the Designated Person in charge of the Centre.
  
• Deliver a dynamic, emergent curriculum tailored to children's individual needs.
  
• Maintain all agreed quality and safety standards consistently.
  
• Monitor child protection issues, parent concerns, complaints, near-misses, incidents, and accidents, ensuring immediate remedial action and proper recording. Report child protection concerns as necessary.
  
• Work with the Deputy Manager to develop the service, source additional funding, and complete applications timely.
  
• Stay informed on early childhood care and education developments via media, emails, and networking.
  
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with external agencies, including TUSLA and the Early Intervention Team.
  
• Monitor occupancy levels to ensure maximum capacity and financial sustainability.
  
• Ensure the building is maintained to a high hygiene standard.
  
• Serve as the Designated First Aid Officer.
  
• Act as the Deputy Designated Child Protection Liaison.
  
• Serve as the Designated Fire Safety Officer.
  
• Be available for inspections by the Early Years inspector, providing all necessary information.
  
  Requirements:
  
  
• Minimum Level 6 qualification in childcare; Level 7/8 preferred.
  
• At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in an early years setting, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
  
• In-depth knowledge of inclusive early childhood education and care.
  
• Detailed understanding of current legislation relevant to early years.
