Job Description:

State Street is seeking a skilled and experienced Security Engineer with expertise in cryptographic key management. The security engineer will collaborate with lead engineers and architects to develop, implement, and maintain key management solutions. The Security Engineer will integrate various key management systems and HSMs within a complex collection of enterprise applications, cloud environments, and DevOps workflows. The security engineer will design and implement cryptographic automation and integrated solutions across the enterprise.Responsibilities will include:

• Architecting solutions for CMS and KMS to align with encryption strategies.
• Developing and evolving a NIST-compliant framework for KMS and CMS across the enterprise.
• Automating day-to-day processes for certificate and key management through system orchestration.
• Creating ad-hoc and automated data reports to monitor KPIs and system health.
• Enhancing system monitoring frameworks for security alerts and notifications.
• Developing automation approaches for KMS and CMS lifecycle challenges.
• Analyzing legacy KMS and CMS solutions to identify security gaps and develop capabilities to remediate and mitigate risks.
• Providing guidance on scoping complex, cross-organizational projects.
• Creating standard workflows for seamless integration across tech stacks.
• Partnering with engineering teams to design and evaluate KMS and CMS strategies.
• Deploying secure solutions to ensure Digital Credential Services meet specifications, procedures, and security policies.
• Integrating applications and third-party products into internal KMS and CMS services.
• Creating and maintaining documentation for technical and administrative purposes.Skills/Knowledge Desired:

• Certificate Authority Administration
• Certificate Enrollment Web Service & Policy Web Service
• Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS) monitoring
• Encryption best practices for data-in-motion and data-at-rest
• Expertise in PKI technologies such as SSH, SSL, TLS
• Workflow and API development experience
• Proficiency with RESTful APIs, JSON, XML
• Basic programming and scripting skills
• Experience with K8s, CI/CD, Terraform (preferred)Experience Desired:
  • 5-7 years in KMS and CMS architecture
  • 5-7 years in System Administration of Windows, Unix/Linux
  • 5-7 years in infrastructure security, systems, or network engineering/development
  • Experience developing executive-level reports and communications
  • Experience in large, complex environments (financial services experience is a plus)Salary Range: $130,000 - $205,000 annuallyThe salary range applies to the primary location.
