: East Elmhurst, NY 11370-1381 Shift : 4:00 PM-12:00 AM Length : 3
months, Possible Extension Pay : $55-$60/hr Education: Master's
degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field. New York State
License in Social Work, License in Mental Health Counseling, or
licensure in Psychology. Skills: Experience conducting both
assessment and treatment with adults with behavioral problems,
substance use histories and severe mental illness. Preference will
also be given to applicants with inpatient or related experience.
Duties : Provide quality mental health care to incarcerated adult
men under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor and Mental
Health Unit Chief Conduct mental health evaluations, assessments,
crisis intervention, and follow-up care Determine and coordinate
patient disposition for appropriate levels of mental health care
Coordinate discharge planning with Reentry Social Workers Complete
all required documentation and statistical reports Collaborate with
the Department of Correction to ensure patient access, housing, and
treatment disposition Coordinate patient care with other
institutional programs Develop and lead group treatment sessions on
mental health observation units and other assigned units
Participate in weekly clinical supervision sessions Participate in
mental health and medical rounds as assigned Participate in case
conferences and treatment planning Conduct psychological testing as
assigned Supervise social work interns or student volunteers as
assigned Perform other duties as assigned by the Unit Chief,
