Respiratory Therapist - Day Shift Location New Jersey Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule Day shift, 3x12 hours Job Description The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport as medical needs dictate, while operating within their professional scope and with minimal supervision. The role includes evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and explaining procedures and equipment to patients while providing necessary discharge education. Responsibilities Conduct physician-prescribed treatments utilizing various ventilatory equipment and devices. Perform chest physiotherapy to promote secretion clearance and administer suctioning through multiple methods. Monitor oximetry and capnography in accordance with established policy. Review patient chest x-rays to decide on further evaluation needs. Conduct pulmonary function studies and assist with various respiratory care procedures. Facilitate tracheostomy care, including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes. Perform arterial punctures and monitor arterial blood gas results. Maintain accurate respiratory therapy documentation and communicate effectively with the healthcare team. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Valid New Jersey State Licensure as a Respiratory Therapist. Experience with invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support and respiratory procedures.
