Assessment and Strategy
Location: Remote
As a Senior Sustainability Expert - Packaging Assessment and
Strategy in our US branch, you will support the delivery of
high-quality consulting services for our clients, focusing on
leading sustainable packaging initiatives through expert guidance
in product environmental footprinting (PEF) and life cycle
assessment (LCA). You will apply strategic, systematic approaches
to assess and reduce environmental impacts across the product life
cycle, especially for consumer packaged goods (CPG) packaging,
utilizing ecodesign principles, circularity strategies, and
science-based solutions.
You will evaluate packaging solutions against recognized
circularity metrics and frameworks, develop product environmental
footprints in line with EU and international standards, and ensure
compliance with evolving environmental regulations. Collaborating
with cross-functional teams-including design, R&D, procurement,
and compliance-you will embed sustainability into product
development, support data-driven decisions, and contribute to
developing closed-loop and low-impact packaging systems aligned
with the environmental priorities of the Fashion and Sporting Goods
Sector.

Key Responsibilities: Does this describe you and your next
role?
- Conduct Life Cycle Assessments and Product Environmental
Footprints, especially for packaging materials and
products.
- Perform LCAs and footprints aligned with standards such as ISO
14040/44, PEF, etc.
- Analyze environmental impacts across the full product life
cycle, focusing on packaging.
- Develop and communicate strategic insights from assessments to
diverse audiences.
- Support ecodesign and sustainable packaging innovation by
collaborating with design, R&D, and marketing teams.
- Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impacts through
material choices, design, and process efficiencies.
- Assess circularity of packaging using established metrics
(e.g., Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Circular Transition Indicators,
ISO standards).
- Recommend solutions for improved recyclability, reuse,
biodegradability, or compostability.
- Contribute to closed-loop packaging development and material
recovery strategies.
- Monitor and interpret relevant regulations (e.g., EU Packaging
Waste Regulation, EPR laws).
- Stay updated on sustainable packaging trends and benchmark
environmental performance.
- Engage with external stakeholders and participate in
standard-setting initiatives.
- Contribute to business development through proposal writing,
client pitches, and identifying new opportunities.
- Lead and mentor project teams.
- Serve as an internal subject matter expert and represent
Quantis at conferences.
