Crisis Recovery Specialist (CRS) provides a wide variety of
clinical and case management services to persons served, including
clinical services, case management services, support,
rehabilitative skill building, therapeutic interventions, and
advocacy in accordance with the Mental Health Provider Manual
written and mandated by the Vermont Department of Mental
Health.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:CLINICAL:Provides case management,
skill development, coordination, and collaboration with peer
support services; participation in the day-to-day program
activities and coordinating with post-acute crisis recovery
services in the home environment as well as accompanying the
Emergency Clinician in community settings. Works to assure family
participation is full and transparent, whenever it is clinically
appropriate. Assist with clients at Battelle House who may be in
crisis, assist in running groups at Battelle House, help with meal
prep and clean up.DIRECT CLIENT SUPPORT SERVICES:Administration of
admissions and discharges once an individual has been accepted into
the unit. This includes conducting the admission interview and
checklist, making sure all forms and releases are signed, as well
as taking an inventory of personal belongings. While client is
admitted the CRS will provide support and answer questions helping
the individual adjust to the house and the program. Assist in
helping clients conduct out-patient intakes either in-person or
electronically. Help form and facilitate client groups and
morning/evening check-ins.CLINICAL SUPPORT:Provides clinical
support and case consultation alongside other members of UCS
Emergency Services. Assist in pre-screening, triaging, and
appropriately routing crisis calls. CRS will also offer support and
verbal de-escalation to crisis callers when appropriate. CRS will
elevate calls to the Emergency Clinician when indicated. CRS will
conduct bed calls, referrals, and prior authorizations for
inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. They will send the
appropriate information to receiving facilities via fax or secure
email.MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION:Provide basic medical care
including checking vital signs upon admission/discharge and
assisting the UCS nursing and medical staff with other appropriate
duties. CRS will be trained and then medication delegated. They
will assist nursing and medical teams with obtaining and
administering medications. This may include helping clients pick up
medications.CLIENT IDENTIFICATION AND OUTREACH:Provides outreach
services to members of the community in need. Provides protection
and advocacy of client rights, whenever possible. Provides persons
served and families with referral information and assistance to
meet needs not assured by our agency.AGENCY PARTICIPATION:Works to
ensure the highest quality of services throughout the agency by
participation in committees, qualityassurance activities, and
interdepartmental activities.RECORD KEEPING:Completes clinical and
administrative forms in a timely manner for accurate billing,
up-to-date clinical records, and appropriate information sharing.
Completes all clinical documentation in a professional and timely
manner, including those required with admissions, discharges, and
medication administration. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:A minimum of a
bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, rehabilitation
counseling, psychiatric nursing, or related field and two years'
experience. Must be eligible to receive Qualified Mental Health
Professional certification at any point during employment. Must
obtain medication delegation training within the first 90 days of
