The Vacuum Melt Technician is responsible for the maintenance,
setup, and operation of vacuum melters and tube furnaces to melt
and cast pure metals and alloys into ingots, cutting
ingots/samples, assisting in rolling ingots into plate stock and
then water jetting those plates into machinable targets.
In this role you will also:
Follow production orders and instructions and weigh and prepare
materials for vacuum melting
Work with the Process Engineer to develop procedures for vacuum
melting new materials
Clean and evaluate vacuum melted parts
Maintain equipment and perform preventive maintenance as
scheduled
REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or GED
One year of industrial training and three months related
experience
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and convert in all units
of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals,
with ability to compute percent
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and
color vision
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is
contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility
for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the
licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export
Administration Regulations (EAR).
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S.
citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.,
a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a
National of a country that is not prohibited from approval for an
export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under
its jurisdiction.

Pay Range:
$22.50 - $31.80
Actual base salary offered varies based on factors, including but
not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base
salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic
location.
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S.
Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations
(EAR).

National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to

obtain an export license in a time frame consistent with Materion's
business requirements.
