SummaryVertical Relevance is looking for an AWS App Modernization Consultant to join our team as a full-time employee working remotely. This person is responsible for the end-to-end planning, building, and deploying of software systems. He/she will drive the programming of well-constructed, testable code.As an AWS App Modernization Consultant, you will implement technical solutions as part of a team for customer engagements. • Help customers shape their journey to adopting the cloud and provide technical and strategic guidance on their "cloud journey".
• Consult, plan, design, and implement cloud-native application solutions with customers, including:
  • Review existing application architectures and propose iterative improvements towards cloud-native architectures.
  • Code, test, and deploy refinements in customer applications.
  • Build and deploy infrastructure and automate operations.
  • Become a deep technical resource that earns customer trust.
  • Develop high-quality technical content such as automation tools, reference architectures, and white papers.
  • Innovate on behalf of customers and translate ideas into measurable results.
    • Support solution development by conveying customer needs and feedback to technology roadmaps, sharing real-world challenges, and recommending capability enhancements.
    • Assist with technical briefs and reference architecture implementations.
      • Support internal and external brand development through thought leadership, including writing blog posts and developing case studies.Qualifications
        • Experience architecting/operating full-stack applications on AWS.
        • Core skills: Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure DevOps/TFS, EC2, Lambda, S3, AWS networking, .NET, IIS, MS SQL Server, Java, Apache Tomcat, SNS, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch.
        • Optional skills: SageMaker, Glue, Firehose, Hashicorp Vault, Dynatrace, Snowflake.
        • Experience in customer-facing software/technology roles.
        • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.Sample ActivitiesCloud Native Application Re-Architecture
          • Assist with architectural reviews and migration planning for existing applications to AWS.
          • Identify prospects for migration to cloud-native services to improve cost, security, performance, and resiliency.
          • Review monitoring and operational processes, recommending improvements.
          • Decompose large monolithic applications into smaller, deployable components using DevOps practices.
          • Support migration activities and deliver code/configuration changes.
          • Implement automated testing and adopt DevOps best practices.Creating a Self-Service Pipeline Framework
            • Define and review DevOps capabilities aligned with business outcomes.
            • Provide best practices and develop MVPs for DevOps frameworks, including deploying web apps, EC2 instances, and container services.
            • Develop and implement MVPs in non-production environments and identify next steps for future engagements.
            • Transfer knowledge to stakeholders on DevOps practices.Relevant Technical Tools
